The angels demand it...

I get a positive email from the Oprah website every morning – thank you Oprah - this morning’s was -

"When you die God and the angels will hold you accountable for all the pleasures you were allowed in life that you denied yourself." – Anonymous

So there you go…deny yourself nothing…do you want to have to be accountable to Celestial beings? Talk about pressure. Have that chocolate and buys those shoes…it’s not your fault. You’re trying not to upset angels. I think that’s a useful excuse we can all use for many things.

I said it would rain and it did rain. I am I psychic? No – evidence of this is I have had the same ‘lucky’ lotto number for nearly twenty years. I started gambling young. Anyway, it rained a whole 5 millimetres in Bris-vegas which is stuff all in meteorological terms. But it was still enough for me to race outside in my pj’s – thus scaring the neighbours – and go immediately to my new rain water tank. I turned on the taps and – nothing came out. Yes, you actually need a tad more rain for the tank to fill. Never mind –it will come.

I was extremely disorganized this morning. Mainly due to a lack of interest in going to work. We had a public holiday yesterday and I find it very hard to go to work after a day off. Okay, yes, I find it hard to go to work at any time. It did not help when Ethel emailed me to tell me she was chucking a sickie as she was not in the mood to attend work. I understand this completely – and if I did not have plans for my sick days, I would have taken a day off too. I like to keep sick days for urgent stuff like edits, re-writes or a Friday off when I want a long weekend – important sick day stuff. I am dedicated. I am dedicated to me and after all I don’t want to hold myself accountable to angels. See how nicely that works?

Anyway, I was still talking online to Anny and Kelly, my blog serial partners in crime, 15 minutes before I was due to be at work and I was half dressed. Yes, concerning but nothing that a little creative lying – did you get stuck in traffic too? - could not fix. Though on the whole no one really questions me as I am fairly scary and I always have an answer to cover my arse. I have to be quick on my feet, I not only have a large arse but I also have much wrong doing to cover up.

So, I go into the first meeting of the day. I thought the topic was to be about delivery and scheduling problems. Apparently not. The first ten minutes was spent discussing why my socks did not match. Hmm…I sat down, crossed one leg over the other and my mismatched socks – stripes on one sock and spots on the other – were obvious at the bottom of my trousers. I never match socks. I don’t have time nor do I worry about small things like this. How devil may care am I? But I have discovered mismatched socks upset people greatly. We have global poverty, injustice, war and terrorism and yet my socks are perceived as a problem. It’s not corporate apparently. My care factor on this? Negative 12. I said thank god you can’t see my knickers then. This got everyone immediately back to what we should have been talking about. Do I do how to be interactive at a meeting or what?

Thirty years since Elvis died. I can remember when he died – of course I was but a mere babe – shut up I was – I remember how people mourned him. I love Elvis songs. The man had a beautiful, sexy and soulful voice. I especially love his movies for the pure fact they are a fabulous escape as you know he will sing and smile and get the girl. Isn’t that all we need? What a man Elvis was huh?

Now to Anny – http://www.annycook.blogspot.com/ and Kelly – http://www.kkirch.blogspot.com/. Have you noticed this pair has been getting a little out of control with the Emmeline saga? I have tried to rein it in and be vaguely sane – but they make it awfully hard with their killer zucchinis and orange nipples – their characters – not them – though I have not met them so I may be wrong…hmmm…check out what Anny did yesterday - eyeroll from Amarinda - and see what Kelly has done today - Amarinda shaking her head. My turn again Friday...hhhm...what will I do?
Go ahead: Live with abandon. Be outrageous at any age. What are you saving your best self for?

Sigh. I keep hoping for a cast change. Rafe and Shade don't deserve Emmeline. And I thought my attempt was reasonably sane. At least I was offering the chance to bring it back to normal. A Vortex....could be to anywhere....

On the other hand, we still have Rinalda and the companion plus the googly-moogly. Imagine where we can go with that!

My own SPAM filter won't let me leave a comment...how crazy is that? So I'll leave it here...

May it rain enough to fill your parched new water tank...and on every field in Indiana, except for the ones surrounding my hubby's job site and our campsite this weekend:)
