Melissa Lopez visits the Amarinda blog...

When the talented Melissa Lopez sent me an email and asked to be on my blog to promote her latest release Boomerang Love I said sure. Anything that has anything to do with Australia works for me. So read, enjoy, buy the book and travel to Australia. The natives are straight to the point but friendly. So come on down under. If you see a dyed red-headed woman with attitude stop by and say g'day.

Inspiration.

Inspiration for authors can come from nearly anything. Music. A newspaper article. A women’s magazine survey. A sports game. Another author’s story. Absolutely anywhere. That’s what is so great about being an author. You never know what will tickle a muse’s fancy.

More than a year ago Samhain Publishing put out a call for sun, sand, and sex anthology stories. Gotta love the travel channel. I starting thinking of all the beaches I’ve yet to visit, including those in Australia. Mercy, am I fascinated by the country! I knew I wanted to try for a story slot. And so did my muse. Through the weaving of a story I knew where my muse was taking me.

The actual inspiration for Boomerang Love sprang from the relationship of my youngest son’s favorite hero and his wife. Steve and Terri Irwin.

Some mothers watch hours on end of cartoons with their little boys, not me. Mine still wants to grow up to be a crocodile hunter. And then one day I listened as the couple shared their “love at first sight” tale. The couple married within a few short months of meeting one another.

Almost immediately my muse asked me…what if a heroine left, instead of staying? Would she return? Did she dare? What about the hero? Would he be able to work her out of his system? The plot to Boomerang Love fell into place as I drafted a short plot up.

In those minutes the Thorn brothers were born.

I invite you to…Take a walkabout on the wild side.

Boomerang Love - the blurb.

When you toss a boomerang, you know it will come back. But all bets are off when it’s a lover you’ve let go.

Cohen Thorn and Hayleigh Davenport shared one night of wild sex neither of them can forget, then went their separate ways half a world apart. But now Hayleigh's back in Australia for one more weekend of passion. If she can't get this Outback rancher out of her system once and for all, she'll at least have memories to last a lifetime.

They've only got three days to steam up Sydney and the Outback, but in the place known as Never-Never, anything can happen. Soon they realize there's a powerful force drawing them together. Is it simple lust, or lasting love?

My day…

Started at the new job today. The job is as exciting as watching paint dry but as an acquaintance said to me when I told him this - “You always what portholes in your coffin, Amarinda.” Is that a problem? Anyway, at the job, I heard the most beautiful words a woman can ever hear. "Do what you like." Thank you I will. I would have done so without the words but now it's not my responsibility if I do something bad. What? You don't think that's right? You need to come and sit beside me and I'll tell you some things. Corruption is good for your soul

I got enormous box of stationery from Ethel. This is a woman that has the same work ethic as me. I don't have to explain the potential of being bad and what it can bring to your life to Ethel. Lead us not into temptation as we have already found and exploited it thank you very much

‘Returned one of the blinds that I bought yesterday. The manager had one of those big, fake, oh-for-god-sake smiles on his face when he saw me. I waved and was terribly charming because I won and he was just a man and could not be expected to win over a woman as we all know that's genetically not possible – so there.

"Live as if you like yourself, and it may happen." -- Marge Piercy

Rush over now to check out what Anny - www.annycook.blogspot.com and Kelly - www.kkirch.blogspot.com are pontificating (biggest word I'be used today) about

Go ahead: Live with abandon. Be outrageous at any age. What are you saving your best self for?

Why'd you return the blinds? And did the manager wave back? Oooh the drama!

Portholes in the coffin, eh? That's an interesting concept, kinda like the glass doors on the old timey coffins. Hmmmm. Wonder how I could use that in a story?

Glad you're settling into the new job. Enjoy. For now.

Nice blurb on Boomerang love. AJ you are dangerous when you are terribly charming. I wonder what to expect when you are NOT your sweet charming.

Port holes in a coffin - best expression I've heard in ages.
