Ripped...
So, I’m looking around for a new pair of jeans. I came across ripped ones. I thought ripped jeans went out with acid washing and carefully manicured five o’clock designer stubble and men with waaay too much hair gel. Yes, yes, I know there’s nothing new in fashion and everything is cyclic but I have never been able to work out, despite what age I am, why ripped jeans are deemed fashionable. Please explain…

Dragged backwards through a bush...
I do not understand this fashion where women wear these short shorts with the pockets hanging past the end of the denim. It’s not an attractive. It makes them look like they’ve been dragged backwards through a bush. How is this look beautiful? Worse still, the very overweight are wearing them. I thought curvaceous women had more sense and avoided the scrag clothes their skinny counterparts wore. Clearly not. Whichever fashioner designer/diva/guru/wanker came up with this fashion obviously hates women.
Say no to fashion designers….

Size right!
So I went and bought a belt at lunchtime. So what you say? It’s a big what. Stick with me in my rambulation. Anyway as I am losing weight…my apologies if you find it…send it back and I’ll bury it in the garden… my strides (pants/slacks/trousers/long bits of fabric that cover your legs – pick what’s applicable to your hemisphere) - are loose and Huston we have a problem if they fall down as showing that much cellulite on display is, to my understanding, against the law. So I went to a store and wandered over to a belt rack and I picked out the size that I though would fit me – medium. No, it didn’t. Too small. I picked up large – no, too small again. Huh…so I rifled through the belts and came across another medium – this time too big and yes, the large was too big. The small was right. No, this isn’t going into a Goldilocks and the three bears story but if it was I’d have had that blonde bimbo kicked out of the bear’s house for intrusion. Tramp. Hussy. Home invader.…where was I? Weight…medium…large…small…oh yeah…so I’ve never been small in anything – though in saying that I always get told I have really small ear holes and this annoys doctors when they want to look inside. My answers to that is don’t.…but I digress…back to belts. So I was thinking ‘what the hell is wrong with these sizes?’
I went through the whole bloody rack and discovered that when I take into account all the different manufactures not one of them had consistency in sizes. What is my point you ask? My point is that in a world where people of all sizes from petite to the voluptuous ladies of size 26 and up you would think these nongheads manufacturers could all agree on sizes. It’s stupid and shitty enough that they make larger women feel like crap when they show off skeletal fashion designed for size 2 - which is for a baby - and call that the ideal size. The ideal size is what a woman in herself is happy with so stop buggerizing around with the sizes and just make them standard. Just let a woman walk to a rack and pick up a shirt and skirt and a belt knowing that the size she holds in her hand will be correct and she doesn’t have to go through all this bullshit of trying it on an wasting time. Do they piss around with men’s clothes like this? I think not.

Size me not…

CURVY women have no place on the catwalk, iconic German fashion designer Karl Lagerfeld was quoted as saying, after a magazine said it was banning skinny models in favour of "real women".
"No one wants to see curvy women," Lagerfeld was quoted as saying on the website of news magazine Focus yesterday.

I heard this on the radio this morning as I was driving to work and my first thought was ‘what a wanker’ and why are we even listening to a nong like this? Why are we allowing him to dictate fashion when clearly he appears to have no idea what a woman looks like.
I don’t know about you but practically every woman I know has curves – some in abundance. We have arses and boobs and hips. It’s what makes us women. I don’t think fashion designers quite understand that. No woman I know is a stick figure. To say ‘No one wants to see curvy women’ is a wild overstatement with no basis in fact. I’m happy he has an opinion however men like this perpetuate anorexia, bulimia and depression. They pick at a woman’s self esteem until she believes she is ugly. No woman could measure up to the ideal of perpetually thin and beautiful. It’s not possible.
The comment I get most from my books? Readers like that the heroines are not small, waif like creatures. They’re not size 2 – what a ridiculous measurement – and while the heroines would maybe like to lose some pounds, they’re not going to fall apart if that doesn’t happen. They’re fit, strong and healthy. They’re smart and their independent regardless of what size they are.
Size is what you make it – do not allow someone to dictate your happiness or slap at your pride. If you feel good, you look good regardless what the label says. Beauty is all about confidence.
So I say to men like this, get into the 21st century, sunshine. Look at the women in the street. They ain’t stick figures.
