A character from characterville...

I wrote this secondary character called Swerve in my first Vampire book called Shades of Gray. The feedback from readers about Swerve was quite amazing. He is this guy who wanders in and out doing dumb stuff. He’s annoying and yet you can’t help but like him despite his irritating habits and inability to focus on anything.

Anyway, Swerve shows up in Run the Gantlet, again as a secondary character. Gantlet sort of roughly follows the other three vamp books but not really. I’m not into writing a deadset series. I like to link books so they can be read in any order but none are dependant on the other. What is Swerve doing with vampires? Who the bloody hell knows. But he’s there being Swerve – vague, irresponsible yet strangely wise in a drugged sort of way.

Swerve wanders in and out of Gantlet, really just as a side bar to other stuff that is happening. Why did I put him in there when he really has nothing to do with the story? I’m not sure. He just turned up so I continued writing him in. And again, the response to him has been amazing. So, due to that, as soon as I finish my werewolf book, I’m going to write a vampire book featuring Swerve. Who is Swerve? Why is he just wandering through vampire books and why do we want to know more about the Swerves of the world? In my mind I know who Swerve is. I’ll be interested to see if it matches what readers think. I believe there is a little Swerve in all of us.

Plots and knots....

My vampire romance - Run the Gantlet - yes Gantlet - not gauntlet – yes - god knows, gantlet is the correct term - trust me....is out today at Ellora’s Cave. Let the pigeons loose.

The blurb…

One thousand years ago Caitriona of Gaunt cursed a future kinswoman. Eloise is the last Gaunt woman standing. Her fate? To fall in love with a vampire and run a gantlet to prove her love. But will lust be good enough?

Eloise was determined never to cross the path of a vampire—until she met the hard-bodied and delicious Arrow and fell for the hot, sexy vamp. One minute she hates him and the next she’s in his arms. And that’s not her biggest problem. They have to pass seven challenges to stay alive—if they can keep their hands off each other long enough.

Running the gantlet is just a side issue for Arrow. His biggest test is making Eloise fall in love with him. He craves the taste of her innocent body and sweet blood. Seducing her with sin and sex is the answer and he’s not about to let any challenge stand in his way.

Go sin and sex….

Not only that….

I was only just mentioning a day or so ago I didn't have a cover for Fear of Being – and then whizz bang presto - I have one now. Isn’t it excellent? Thank you Whiskey Creek Press Torrid cover goddesses. The book is out on August in both e-book and paperback.

That blurb….

Spencer Grace is living her nightmares. No longer content to haunt her dreams, an evil creature called the red man invades her world and turns it upside down. He knows things about her that no one else does. He feeds on her fears. He wants her for his own. Spencer is fighting for her life. She will not let this bastard win.

But this creature is not the only one new to her life. Two men, each with their own agenda, come to her. Both want her body and her heart. Both are prepared to share Spencer to allow her a long dreamt of desire. But in the end only one can have her. Who is stronger?

But can Spencer believe either man? Hot sex and fantasy is one thing but trust is another. It’s no coincidence that evil and love have come into her life at the same time.

Spooky…

And also…

….in an attempt to de-knot-ify – I’m sure it’s a real word somewhere - and relax I went and had a massage. I was at the gym doing my usual circuit of hauling my arse around, feeling so tense that I could break into a gazillion pieces and it hit me. I need a massage. Actually it was a big flashy sign that came on the screen in front of me at the gym. "Need to relax?" Oh-bloody-frigging-hell-damn-for-god-sake-does-a-chicken-have-lips-yes-I-bloody-do.

Now, the concept of a massage is a really odd thing for me to think of as I am very, very picky on who touches me. I'm not a tactile person per se. Touch me without advance warning and I may just snot you...no seriously. It's just the way I am - yet I adore me.

So I went and got massaged. I apparently have lots of big hard knots in my shoulders, back and my calf muscles and funnily enough – well I found it funny – I have tight arse muscles. Oh, how that made me laugh. My arse is pure flab but somehow - what do you know - muscle has snuck into my fat buns – go figure. It was pointed out to me by the fantastic masseuse that I also have a problem with relaxing and lying still on the table – correct – I suck at that - and I am scary tight all over – correct – well, if you are going to do something you may as well do it to extremes I say. Yes, I’m going back. I need to. Even without her telling me that I knew it. Am I relaxed? No, I’m actually rather stiff and sore as hell. It will take some more work but I’m worth the effort. I just hope my tight arse muscles don’t disappears…what a bummer that would be…yeah, bad pun.

Prince Vampire....

For all those who have asked, here is the next vampire instalment – Prince Vampire. There is another vamp book that follows this one called Run the Gantlet – yes ‘gantlet’ is correct – trust me - that releases in July. The blurb…yes, beware, I have been naughty again and used ‘fuck’ in the blurb… oh and cock…

The blurb…

After reading about a sexy vampire prince and his search for his true love, Aureliann O’Neal is on fire with need. The sexual tension on the pages matches her own deep desires. She wants to be skin to skin with the vampire prince. In her lust filled need for him to fuck her, Aureliann calls out to the dark hero.

Prince Valdemar has been waiting for the true love of his life to summon him. Only she can feed his many hungers. When he answers Aureliann’s call, his cock is on red alert. She is the one. Valdemar knows every luscious inch belongs to him and he will stake his claim.

The excerpt…adult concepts…

Prince Valdemar’s hand stroked his long, thick, shaft as the water ran down his body. His cock jumped with tension as he fisted it and milked it slowly, his head flung back, his long hair sleek and wet against his body. The loud groan that wrenched from his lips was one of pure and utter aggravation.
Aureliann O’Neal turned the page of the book and sighed. She could picture so clearly in her mind the sight of the naked Prince as he fisted his penis in the shower to remove tensions within. Her own fingers moved down under her panties to between her legs to massage her clit as she read on, visualizing in her mind the wet sheen of the taut muscles of ass and shoulders. She knew of his frustration. It was spelled out very clearly in the pages of The Vampire’s Kiss. Aureliann had the same feelings. It was a longing to find true love. The hunger for that one person who knew your needs like no other. No book had ever made her feel so lonely and needy before.
“Where is she?” His hand pumped faster and his powerful thigh muscles clenched as he looked for release. “I cannot go on without her.”
“Oh boy, I am here just waiting for you, my lord.” Aureliann’s hand moved faster as she spread her legs further apart. She was so hot and wet that she knew it would take nothing to make her come. “If only I had you.” She wanted to feel his hands on her body and his cock surging hard within her. It was something she knew she could not have but then the best dreams always were.
Valdemar growled in frustration as a milky jet shot forth from his cock and disappeared in the water. He shook and shuddered as he pumped his shaft dry. His despair could be heard throughout the land.
“Oh, what a waste,” she moaned as she came under her own hand. Aureliann knew all about despair and need. “Please bring me Prince Valdemar.”
“Please bring her to me.”
“Snap.” If only life was a book.

Yeah….if only…

Niceness...

Bless you Ellora’s Cave cover gods. I wanted smart arse meet urban Goth and I got it. This is number 4...I think...in the vampire books follow on...

Now I could get into a discussion about the whole ‘gauntlet’ verses ‘gantlet’ word deal but suffice to say – I am over it – and no, it’s not a typo – yes it is correct - and a sincere thank you to everyone who was worried I had screwed up on the title. That people were honest enough to tell me is appreciated. I would rather someone be blunt and honest and tell the truth instead of just saying “it’s nice”…and speaking of nice…I think ‘nice’ is the most boring, meaningless word on the planet. Why even both using it? To me it expresses boredom and that the person is not moved enough to have any passion.

I would rather someone say they loved/loathed/detested etc something rather than just saying it’s nice to ‘fit in’ or to avoid trouble. Why do you think people are so scared to give an opinion? Is the need to keep everything ‘nice’ and be ‘nice’ paramount? Or are they as bored as hell and cannot think of another word that fits in with their boredom? Or, is it more that ‘nice’ can be used as a weapon? ‘Oh yes, that’s nice, dear' = it’s crap or meaningless or I am pissed you have it and I don’t so I’ll make it sound insignificant. And then there’s men – god bless their cotton socks - I think ‘nice’ to them is a safe word when they have to give an opinion on an outfit or hairdo. For them I think it’s like an arse saving word…”Crap! I don’t know if her shoes match her dress and her hair is all fluffy…is that good or bad? What does she want me to say?" So he comes out with ‘nice.’ Smart man.

If something sucks – then say it. It’s your opinion and it’s one of the few things you have with you for life and I think you can ‘nice’ yourself to death. And yes, of course, email me if you have an opinion on this….

Save the Earth... it's the only planet with chocolate –unknown
